Current patients can call for after hours care

Our Team

Experienced Medical Staff

Experience is important.  We see this every day.  Six of our seven current office staff have been with Pediatric Partners of Mobile, LLC for more than 15 years.  Our newest staff member replaced our RN, Dawn Havard, who retired after more than 18 years of service.  What does that mean for you?  It means that you know and trust us.  It also means that our staff knows you and your family.  It means that we have found meaningful life work in a stable and successful work environment.  Our work is demanding but it is also fulfilling.  We see this every day as we talk to you on the phone, as we greet you at the door, listen to your concerns, share in your sadness, and celebrate your successes.

The bonds that we form with our patients over the years are the key to a therapeutic relationship.  Visits to the doctor are often not very pleasant for the patient, but the trust that we have in you and the faith that you have in us help in the healing process.  One of the most rewarding events is each time a former patient brings their newborn baby to our office.  To witness the transformation of a small child and former patient to a loving, caring parent is to reach the pinnacle of the profession.  Soon we expect to start seeing the grandchildren of some of our first patients.  And as we enter our third decade of service, know that we value you and will continue to provide the best care for your child as well as for your entire family.  Welcome home.

Dwight Yoder, MD, FAAP

Pediatrician, MD, FAAP

Hello, my name is Dwight Yoder and I am a general pediatrician. My wife Dianne and I moved to Mobile in 1993 so I could attend medical school at the University of South Alabama (USA). I completed my training in pediatrics at USA in 2000 and then worked in a group practice until 2003. Our son Matthew was born here and is now training to be a pediatrician as well. We love Mobile and our lives have been made fuller by our community. In 2003 I dreamed of a practice that would provide the best care for patients and the best work environment for me. So I became a solo pediatrician. Modern group practice is very convenient for the doctor but may not always be best for the patient. When your child is sick at night and you call the office you want your doctor on the phone. I have taken phone calls from concerned parents while working on medical missions in Vietnam and while standing in the middle of a stream on a fishing trip. I love being a doctor but this was not my first dream. I trained in classical dance and worked full time as a professional ballet dancer until age 28. This took me across the Eastern United States and to Europe. It’s still fun to take an adult ballet class now and then. My hobbies include unicycling and night sky photography. I also enjoy fly fishing and teaching with Gulf Coast Fly Fishing School. And good luck finding a bigger language nerd than me: I have studied French, German, Arabic, and Vietnamese and am currently working on 2 Swiss German dialects. Continuing education is a necessary hobby but in the last few years I took this further and earned a graduate certificate in Global Health from UAB School of Public Health. I believe in our community and in the role my staff and I play in providing high quality health care to children. As of 2023 we have been going strong for 20 years and there is no reason to believe we won’t be providing these services 20 more years. Or longer!

Ericka Posey

Medical Assistant

Ericka is Registered Medical Assistant and has been with the PPM team for many years. She enjoys helping patients and always greets you with a friendly smile. Outside of work she enjoys reading, music, exercising, and having a nice brunch with friends. Ericka cheers for the Crimson Tide, which might be a reason they have been so successful the past few years! She likes Christmas with its cool weather, beautiful music, and getting together with family and friends.

Alesha Mabien

Medical Assistant

Aleasha is another one of our wonderful medical assistants. One reason she has been with us so long is that it brings her joy to know that she can take care of others. Some of her hobbies include doing hair, ATV riding and listening to music. She also enjoys going to the beach with her family, having cook-outs, and travelling. As a child she liked Arthur and TMNT cartoons and the movie Lion King as well as Shirley Temple movies. Aleasha enjoys crisp fall air and leaves turning colors.

Whitney Mahan

Medical Assistant

Whitney, a lifelong South Mobile County resident, is a medical assistant who has been with us for many years. She enjoys working with our patients and watching children and families grow. Outside of the office Whitney loves painting as well as camping and other outdoor activities with her two girls. A love of sports is in her blood and she pulls hard for the Crimson Tide. Whitney enjoys watching movies and as a mother strongly identifies with the Disney character Luisa Madrigal from the movie Encanto: fixing problems and shouldering the weight of others is a major part of being a Mom. Her favorite season is Fall or “Alabama’s Third Summer,” as she calls it!

Margo Chestang

Receptionist

Margo is our delightful receptionist and usually the first person to greet our patients. She was inspired to work in health care since she was a child helping her grandmother. Her studies after high school have taken her to University of West Alabama, E. L. White Theological Seminary, and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Margo likes hanging out with her family, watching movies, and going on adventures. Her favorite Disney character is Ariel from Little Mermaid and winter is her favorite time of year, especially Christmas.

Alisha Hill

Medical Assistant

Alisha is our newest medical assistant. She is a people person and enjoys helping others. She enjoyed playing basketball and being on the high school dance team as a child and now likes shopping, travelling, and Sunday dinner after church. Alisha is our sole Auburn Tigers fan in the group but it doesn’t dampen her enthusiasm! Her favorite Disney character is Princess Jasmine but she liked the Little Rascals growing up. Alisha’s favorite season is summer with warm weather, beautiful skies, and summer break with the kids.
